Minaur vs Cobolli Prediction & More at Wimbledon, H2H, Picks

Three picks from Wimbledon today, and honestly it's a pretty interesting set of matchups. No clear walkovers here, and at least one of these feels like it could go either way on the day.

Wimbledon Predictions

Alex De Minaur vs Flavio Cobolli

Head-to-head: De Minaur 2-0 Cobolli

De Minaur owns both previous meetings and has looked sharp on grass this year, with his speed and low-ball handling making him genuinely difficult to break down on this surface. Cobolli's had a breakout season and earned his ranking the hard way, but grass hasn't been where he's done his best work and De Minaur's movement is the kind of thing that frustrates players who rely on clean winners to finish points.

That said, Cobolli is good enough now to push this deep, and I think De Minaur might have to work for it over five sets. But he gets there.

Prediction: Minaur in 3

Jiri Lehecka vs Alexander Zverev

Head-to-head: Lehecka 1-1 Zverev

The H2H is level but don't let that fool you. Zverev has been one of the best players in the world this season and his serve on grass is a real weapon, giving him free points that make it so much harder for opponents to build any momentum. Lehecka can be dangerous when he's swinging freely, and he's shown he can beat top players on a good day, but Zverev at a Slam on a fast surface is a different proposition. Hard to see this being competitive at all.

Zverev wins this in four.

Prediction: Zverev in 3

Taylor Fritz vs Alexander Bublik

Head-to-head: Fritz 4-4 Bublik

Eight meetings and it's perfectly split, which tells you everything about how unpredictable this matchup is. Bublik on grass is a genuine problem for anyone. The serve-and-volley, the underarm serves, the flat ball-striking when he's on. He's built for this surface and he knows it. That said, Fritz is the higher seed and the more consistent player, but consistency only gets you so far when the guy on the other side is playing a completely different style of tennis.

I feel like Fritz's groundstroke quality and reliability under pressure, particularly in the longer exchanges that tend to decide fifth sets, just tips it in his favor over a five-set match, but this one could genuinely go either way. Should be fun to watch.

Prediction: Fritz in 3
