Aliassime vs Fokina Prediction & More at Wimbledon, H2H, Picks

We've got three picks from Wimbledon today, and honestly there's a lot to talk about. A potential upset, a coin-flip match that could go anywhere, and a pretty straightforward one to round things out. So let's get into it.

Wimbledon Predictions

Felix Auger Aliassime vs Alejandro Davidovich Fokina

Head-to-head: Aliassime 4-1 Fokina

FAA has owned this matchup, and that 4-1 record makes Fokina a real underdog on paper. The problem is Aliassime has been frustratingly inconsistent lately, the kind of player who can look unplayable for a set and then completely lose the thread, and Fokina on grass is actually more dangerous than people give him credit for. He moves well enough to stay in points and his flat ball, which has caused problems for higher-ranked opponents on faster surfaces, can do real damage on this surface when he's dialed in.

This feels like one of those matches where the H2H is a bit misleading. Fokina in five.

Prediction: Fokina in 3

Frances Tiafoe vs Alexander Bublik

Head-to-head: Tiafoe 2-2 Bublik

A perfectly even H2H and two players who both bring absolute chaos to a match, this one could genuinely go any direction. Bublik's serve on grass is a nightmare to read and he's capable of winning sets almost entirely on free points. But Tiafoe has shown he can absorb that pressure and stay emotionally in matches longer than most and when Bublik stops serving winners he can unravel quickly.

Tiafoe wins this one, I think, but it won't be clean.

Prediction: Tiafoe in 3

Alex De Minaur vs Zachary Svajda

Head-to-head: First meeting

De Minaur is one of the best movers on tour and grass suits his game better than people realize, especially his ability to stretch points and force errors with his speed. That said, Svajda is a decent player but ranked 66th for a reason and there's not much in his game that should trouble De Minaur at this stage of a Slam. Hard to see this being competitive at all. The Australian should get through here without too many alarms, all things considered.

Prediction: Minaur in 3
