We've got three picks from Wimbledon today, and honestly the most interesting question isn't who wins any of these matches, it's whether anyone can even take a set off the top two. Let's get into it.
Wimbledon Predictions
Arthur Rinderknech vs Novak Djokovic
Head-to-head: First meeting
Djokovic back at Wimbledon is always an event, and Rinderknech is simply not the player to trouble him here. The Frenchman has had his moments on tour, but grass is a surface that exposes any weakness in your return game and your movement, and Rinderknech has neither the serve-and-volley instincts nor the defensive read to hurt Djokovic on this court.
Novak will be sharp, motivated and probably a little irritated at having a point to prove after a difficult stretch. This one ends quickly.
Prediction: Djokovic in 3
Jannik Sinner vs Jenson Brooksby
Head-to-head: Sinner 1-0 Brooksby
Sinner beat Brooksby before and he's a completely different player now, sharper and more composed on grass than he's ever been. Brooksby is a smart, creative player and his unorthodox slice and touch game can cause problems on this surface, but Sinner has become so good at not panicking in rallies that those tricks stop working pretty fast.
Sinner wins this, and it probably won't be close.
Prediction: Sinner in 3
Rafael Jodar vs Pablo Carreno-Busta
Head-to-head: Jodar 1-0 Carreno-Busta
This is the one match today I feel like could genuinely surprise us. Carreno-Busta is a clay specialist at heart, but he's a solid all-court player and his consistency from the baseline gives him a path here, especially if he can keep the ball deep and make Jodar work on the return. Jodar leads the head-to-head and has the ranking advantage, but grass doesn't obviously favor either of them.
That said, Carreno-Busta will push this deep, but Jodar's had the better recent run and I'd back him to close it out in five, all things considered.
Prediction: Jodar in 3
