A couple of interesting Wimbledon matches to get into today, and both have something worth talking about. We've got our picks ready, so let's go.
Wimbledon Predictions
Jiri Lehecka vs Alexander Zverev
Head-to-head: 1-1
Lehecka is a genuinely dangerous player on fast surfaces and that 1-1 head-to-head is not nothing. He's big, he serves well, and grass does suit his game more than most. But Zverev has been one of the best players in the world for two years now and grass is no longer the weakness it once was for him. The slow, grinding clay rallies he dominates aren't really what Wimbledon asks for, but he's become so good at not panicking in tight moments that it barely matters.
This one probably goes the distance, and Lehecka will have his chances. Still, Zverev's consistency at the biggest events is hard to argue against right now.
Prediction: Zverev in 3
Flavio Cobolli vs Arthur Fery
Head-to-head: Cobolli 0-1 Fery
Fery actually leads this H2H, which will catch some people off guard and playing at home on grass gives him a real lift. That said, Cobolli is ranked 104 places higher for a reason, and the gap in experience at this level is real. Fery hasn't had to handle many matches with this kind of pressure on the biggest stages, and I think that shows up before the end. Hard to see this being competitive at all once Cobolli settles in.
Prediction: Cobolli in 3
