Three first-round picks from the WTA Libema Open in 's-Hertogenbosch, where the grass season is finally underway. Who do you think makes it through?
WTA Libema Open Predictions
Dayana Yastremska vs Sara Bejlek
Head-to-head: First meeting
Yastremska is the lower-ranked player here, but rankings don't tell the whole story on grass and she's been one of the more dangerous players on this surface over the last couple of years. Bejlek hasn't shown much on grass to suggest she can flip that dynamic, and the flat, aggressive ball-striking Yastremska brings tends to cause real problems on fast courts.
Prediction: Yastremska in 2
Emma Navarro vs Caty McNally
Head-to-head: Navarro 2-1 McNally
Navarro has quietly become one of the better grass-court players on the WTA Tour, comfortable moving forward and not panicking when things get tight. She leads the head-to-head and the ranking gap here is meaningful. McNally is a solid doubles player with good net instincts, but hard to see this being competitive at all, and Navarro wins this comfortably.
Prediction: Navarro in 2
Lois Boisson vs Solana Sierra
Head-to-head: Boisson 1-0 Sierra
Boisson is the higher-ranked player and holds the only previous meeting between them, but grass is a tricky surface and neither of these two have huge records to lean on out here. I feel like Boisson's game travels better to this surface, but That said, Sierra's not going to roll over, and a three-setter feels right.
Prediction: Boisson in 3
