Tomljanovic is a completely different player on grass, where her flat ball-striking and aggressive net approach cause problems for players who like to rally from the baseline, which McNally does. That surface split matters a lot here.
Tomljanovic has had a difficult couple of years with injuries and it's genuinely hard to know how sharp she is, but reaching a quarter-final on grass, which is comfortably her best surface, suggests she's found something this week. McNally is the higher-ranked player and the form pick on paper, but I feel like the conditions shift the balance just enough for Tomljanovic to flip the head-to-head for the first time. That said, should be close throughout.
