We've got three picks from the second round at the Libema Open in 's-Hertogenbosch today, with a home crowd favourite, a tricky rematch, and a ranking mismatch that might not be as comfortable as it looks. Who do you think gets through?
WTA Libema Open Predictions
Panna Udvardy vs Daria Snigur
Head-to-head: Udvardy 0-1 Snigur
Snigur leads the head-to-head and at 84 in the world she's been moving in the right direction, but neither of these players has shown the kind of grass-court form that makes you feel confident picking them. Udvardy is a decent ball-striker but has never really translated that into results on this surface and Snigur isn't exactly a grass specialist either.
Prediction: Volynets in 2
Anastasia Potapova vs Suzan Lamens
Head-to-head: Potapova 1-0 Lamens
Lamens will have the crowd behind her here and that's genuinely worth something on a surface where confidence matters, but Potapova at 27 in the world is just a significantly better player at this stage. Hard to see this being competitive beyond a set at most. She hits clean and flat off both wings, and grass tends to reward exactly that. Lamens will make it interesting for a set, but I think Potapova closes it out without too much drama.
Prediction: Potapova in 2
Jessica Bouzas Maneiro vs Ajla Tomljanovic
Head-to-head: Maneiro 0-1 Tomljanovic
Tomljanovic is ranked 109 right now but that number doesn't really reflect who she is on grass. She's a natural on this surface, moves well, serves big and has beaten Maneiro before. That said, Maneiro is the higher-ranked player for a reason and has been more consistent week to week. This one feels like it goes three sets, and on grass Tomljanovic's experience, built up over several deep runs at Wimbledon, could easily flip it, but Maneiro should have enough to get through, all things considered.
Prediction: Maneiro in 3
