Swiatek vs Andreeva Prediction & More at WTA Porsche Tennis Grand Prix - Stuttgart, H2H, Picks Cont

Three interesting second round picks from Stuttgart today, with temperatures sitting around 64°F under partially cloudy skies. The clay at Porsche Arena has been producing some quality tennis and we've got a few matches worth talking about, including what could be a genuinely spicy Swiatek-Andreeva rematch.

WTA Porsche Tennis Grand Prix Predictions

Iga Swiatek vs Mirra Andreeva

Head-to-head: Swiatek 1-2 Andreeva

This H2H always raises eyebrows when you mention it, because Andreeva actually leads it despite Swiatek being one of the best clay-court players the women's game has ever seen. Their last meeting was in Doha earlier this year, and Andreeva won in three sets. So this isn't just a fluke record. Swiatek is only ranked fourth right now after a rough patch by her own extraordinarily high standards, and she hasn't been the same wall from the baseline that she was in 2022 and 2023.

Andreeva, on the other hand, has grown into one of the best movers on tour and has become so good at not panicking in long rallies, which is exactly what you need when playing Swiatek on clay. I think this goes three sets and comes down to who handles the big moments better and based on recent form, that's Andreeva.

Prediction: Andreeva in 3

Linda Noskova vs Elina Svitolina

Head-to-head: Noskova 2-0 Svitolina

Noskova has beaten Svitolina both times they've played, but clay is a different story for the Czech. Her flat, aggressive game works best on faster surfaces and the slow conditions here should take some pace off her shots and give Svitolina time to construct points. Svitolina is a grinder who can absorb pressure and make you work for every point, and that style tends to neutralize Noskova's power better than most.

That said, a 2-0 H2H is hard to completely ignore, and Noskova can always rip a winner out of nowhere to swing momentum. Svitolina should still find a way to get through here, all things considered.

Prediction: Svitolina in 3

Liudmila Samsonova vs Cori Gauff

Head-to-head: Samsonova 0-3 Gauff

Gauff has won all three meetings, including their most recent encounter on a similarly slow surface, and Samsonova hasn't really been in the best form lately. Gauff's movement and net presence on clay make her a tough matchup for someone who likes to trade from the baseline, and Samsonova has never found an answer to it. Hard to see this being competitive at all.

Prediction: Gauff in 3
