The WTA Berlin final is set, and it's a genuinely interesting one. Pegula and Noskova have history, and it doesn't all go the way you'd expect given the ranking gap. Let's get into it.
WTA Berlin Tennis Open Predictions
Jessica Pegula vs Linda Noskova
Head-to-head: Pegula 1-2 Noskova
Noskova actually leads this head-to-head, which surprises a lot of people when they first see it, and she's a big reason why. She's tall, she hits flat and hard, and she's never looked intimidated by bigger names. That kind of game can be dangerous on any surface, but grass is a different story. The low bounce strips away some of the margin that helps her on hard courts, and Pegula's compact, clean ball-striking is built for these conditions.
Pegula's been one of the most consistent players on tour for a couple of years now and reaching a grass-court final is another reminder that she's no longer just a hard-court specialist. That said, Noskova is young and capable of taking over a match on her best day, so don't be shocked if this goes three sets. I think Pegula's steadiness and experience in big finals gets her over the line, all things considered.
Prediction: Pegula in 3
