Just one match to preview today, but it's a big one. The WTA Italian Open final in Rome is set, and it's Coco Gauff against Elina Svitolina for the title.
WTA Italian Open Predictions
Cori Gauff vs Elina Svitolina
Head-to-head: Gauff 2-3 Svitolina
Svitolina actually leads this rivalry and she's been a genuine problem for Gauff over the years, mixing up pace and making Coco work for every point in long exchanges. But Gauff has been on another level this week in Rome, and the slow Roman clay feels like it suits her game right now far more than it does Svitolina's counter-punching approach.
Svitolina is a fighter and she won't make this easy, but Gauff's ability to grind through long rallies without panicking has really improved, and on this surface at this stage of the tournament I think she's got too much firepower. That said, expect a tight match, almost certainly three sets, but Gauff should still find a way to get through here.
Prediction: Gauff in 3
