The US Open final is here, and it's a big one. Zverev chasing his first Grand Slam title against a Shelton who's made his deepest run at Flushing Meadows. We've got our prediction for today's match.
US Open Predictions
Alexander Zverev vs Ben Shelton
Head-to-head: Zverev 5-0 Shelton
Five from five. That's a dominant record against anyone, but doing it against Shelton, one of the biggest servers on tour, tells you something real about how well Zverev reads his game. Hard courts, indoor, outdoor, it hasn't mattered. Zverev has figured Shelton out every single time and that kind of pattern doesn't just disappear in a Grand Slam final.
Shelton will make it interesting with his serve and his lefty angles, and if he gets hot in a set the crowd will be firmly behind him. That said, Zverev has been through too many big moments at this stage, including reaching the 2020 US Open final, a match he led by two sets before losing, and he's become so good at not panicking when things get tight. This is the match he's been building toward for years, and I don't see a 5-0 head-to-head going the wrong way on the biggest stage, all things considered.
Prediction: Zverev in 3
