Three second-round picks from the WTA Singapore Tennis Open today, played indoors so the rain outside won't matter. Plenty of intrigue here, especially in that Parks-Fernandez match. Let's get into it.
WTA Singapore Tennis Open Predictions
Oleksandra Oliynykova vs Maja Chwalinska
Head-to-head: First meeting
Chwalinska has had a solid 2025 and her ranking reflects that, sitting 22 spots above Oliynykova coming into this one. This is their first meeting, so there's no history to lean on, but Chwalinska's ball-striking on hard courts is genuinely a cut above and she should be able to dictate most of the rallies here.
Oliynykova isn't without weapons, but the gap in class feels real, and I think Chwalinska gets through this one in three even if it takes a little longer than expected.
Prediction: Chwalinska in 3
Alycia Parks vs Leylah Annie Fernandez
Head-to-head: Parks 2-1 Fernandez
This is a genuinely tricky one. Parks leads the H2H and her power off the ground can overwhelm Fernandez when it's clicking, so this is far from a foregone conclusion. That said, Fernandez is ranked nearly 40 spots higher right now and has been the more consistent player across the season.
Fernandez's ability to stay composed and find angles when things get tight is what separates her here, and I feel like she grinds this one out even if Parks pushes her deep into the third, all things considered.
Prediction: Fernandez in 3
Mirra Andreeva vs Aliaksandra Sasnovich
Head-to-head: Andreeva 1-0 Sasnovich
Sasnovich is ranked 127 spots below Andreeva and there's really no way to sugarcoat how wide this gap is right now. Andreeva is one of the best players in the world, she's become so good at not panicking in rallies and finding solutions at the net and Sasnovich just doesn't have the firepower to test her consistently on this surface.
Hard to see this being competitive at all.
Prediction: Andreeva in 2
