We've got three picks from the Singapore second round today, with the threat of rain hanging over the whole day at 89°F and 100% chance of showers. Some interesting matchups to get into, so let's see who moves through.

WTA Singapore Tennis Open Predictions

Elise Mertens vs Barbora Krejcikova

Head-to-head: Mertens 1-0 Krejcikova

Krejcikova has had a rough stretch lately and her ranking sliding back to 44 tells the story pretty well. She's still capable of stringing together a big run when everything clicks, but the consistency just hasn't been there this year. Mertens, on the other hand, has been one of the more quietly reliable players on the tour in 2025 and the hard court suits her well.

This one feels like it could go the distance, and Krejcikova will have her moments, but Mertens is the steadier player right now and I think that sees her through.

Prediction: Mertens in 3

Alycia Parks vs Leylah Annie Fernandez

Head-to-head: Parks 2-1 Fernandez

Parks actually leads this head-to-head, which might surprise a few people given Fernandez is ranked nearly 40 spots higher. Parks has the power and the serve to hurt anyone on a fast hard court and she's shown she can handle Fernandez specifically. But Fernandez is the more complete player and her ability to stay scrappy and shift momentum mid-match is genuinely hard to deal with.

Fernandez in 3 feels right here. That said, Parks will make it competitive, but Fernandez has enough in the toolkit to find a way, all things considered.

Prediction: Fernandez in 3

Mirra Andreeva vs Aliaksandra Sasnovich

Head-to-head: Andreeva 1-0 Sasnovich

Ranked fifth in the world and improving with every month, Andreeva is in a completely different class than Sasnovich right now. She's become so good at not panicking in rallies and she rarely gives opponents anything cheap, which makes her especially tough for a player like Sasnovich, who sits at 132 in the world, to break down. Hard to see this being competitive at all, and Andreeva should still find a way to get through here.

Prediction: Andreeva in 2
