Jodar making a Barcelona semi-final at world number 57 is already a story and the home crowd here will be absolutely electric behind him. He's been a clay-court grinder his whole career and reaching this stage in a 500-level event shows he's in the form of his life right now.
Fils is the higher-ranked player and nobody would have blinked if he'd reached this round as the favorite, but clay has never been his most comfortable surface and Jodar's baseline consistency on this dirt, which has looked almost flawless this week, is going to be a nightmare to deal with, especially in front of a crowd that'll treat every winner like a match point. That said, I feel like this one goes three sets, with Jodar grinding it out the way only Spanish clay-courters seem to know how, all things considered.
