We've got three second-round picks from the WTA Canadian Open to get into today. Some interesting matchups here, including one H2H stat that genuinely surprised me when I looked it up.

WTA Canadian Open Predictions

Sara Bejlek vs Iga Swiatek

Head-to-head: Swiatek leads 1-0

Bejlek has been one of the more quietly impressive players on tour this year and at 38 in the world she's no pushover, but Swiatek on hard courts is a different animal from the one opponents feel comfortable testing. The only previous meeting went Swiatek's way and there's nothing in Bejlek's game that particularly troubles the way Swiatek constructs points from the baseline.

That said, Swiatek has had some wobbles this season and I wouldn't be shocked to see this go three. Swiatek wins it either way.

Prediction: Swiatek in 3

Elina Svitolina vs Jessica Bouzas Maneiro

Head-to-head: Svitolina leads 3-0

Three from three, and Bouzas Maneiro hasn't found an answer yet. Svitolina's game is built on making opponents uncomfortable with pace and placement, and the Spaniard hasn't cracked that code in any of their meetings. Hard to see this being competitive at all.

Prediction: Svitolina in 2

Maria Camila Osorio Serrano vs Ekaterina Alexandrova

Head-to-head: Osorio Serrano leads 3-0

This is the one that caught my attention. Alexandrova is ranked 19th in the world and has been a consistent hard-court performer for years, yet Osorio Serrano owns her completely, three meetings and three wins. There's clearly something about the Colombian's game, the angles and the heavy topspin, that Alexandrova just hasn't figured out. Alexandrova isn't in terrible form, but the head-to-head is too loud to ignore here.

Osorio Serrano in three feels right and I wouldn't be surprised if it's closer than her dominance of this matchup suggests, all things considered.

Prediction: Serrano in 3
