That H2H is pretty telling, and the one win Waltert managed hasn't exactly sparked a turnaround in this rivalry. Sherif has always matched up well against her, and on clay especially she's the kind of player who grinds you down in long rallies without ever giving you a rhythm.
I think Waltert makes it competitive for a set, which is probably how this goes to three, but Sherif has too much of an edge here to lose this one.

Tamara Korpatsch vs Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva
Head-to-head: First meeting
Korpatsch is a Hamburg local and has played some solid clay-court tennis this season, and that home crowd factor on a slow red clay surface is real. Jimenez Kasintseva is young and ranked lower, and while she's shown flashes, hard to see this being competitive at all against someone comfortable in these exact conditions.

Katarzyna Kawa vs Paula Badosa Gibert
Head-to-head: Kawa 0-1 Gibert
Badosa has had a rough stretch with injuries, including a long spell off tour in 2023, but when she's healthy and on clay she's a completely different player than her ranking suggests right now. That said, Kawa is a clay-court grinder and won't be easy to brush aside, but Badosa's level on this surface is just higher and she's been working her way back into form over the last few months.
Gibert wins this one, should still find a way to get through here.
