One final to preview today at the HSBC Championships in London, and it's a good one. Vekic and Raducanu haven't met before, so we've got no history to lean on here, just two players in form with a title on the line.

WTA The HSBC Championships - London Predictions

Donna Vekic vs Emma Raducanu

Head-to-head: First meeting

Raducanu on a home grass court with a crowd behind her is obviously a dangerous thing, and she's shown enough in the last year or so to suggest she's genuinely back to competing at a consistent level. But Vekic on grass is a different problem. She reached the Wimbledon semi-final last year, one of the better runs by anyone on the women's side that fortnight, and has always been one of those players who raises her level when the grass comes out and her serve and flat groundstrokes are exactly what this surface rewards.

Raducanu's ranking is actually higher right now, which says a lot about how far she's come, and she could absolutely take this if she gets through the tight moments. That said, Vekic has more grass-court finals experience and that counts for something at this stage. I think this goes three sets, gets tense, and the Croatian's big game holds up just enough, all things considered.

Prediction: Vekic in 3
