One semi-final to preview from the HSBC Championships in London today, and it's a pretty interesting one. Raducanu on home grass against a higher-ranked Jovic, first time these two have met.
WTA The HSBC Championships - London Predictions
Emma Raducanu vs Iva Jovic
Head-to-head: First meeting
Raducanu on grass in front of a home crowd is always dangerous and she's shown flashes of her best tennis here this week. The crowd will be fully behind her and she's comfortable on this surface in a way that doesn't always translate to other parts of her season. That said, Jovic has been the more consistent player across 2025 and the ranking gap is real. At 19 years old and ranked inside the top 20, she's not someone who's going to be rattled by the occasion.
Jovic's baseline game travels well to grass and she hits through the court cleanly enough to hurt Raducanu before rallies get long. I think this one goes three sets, and the deciding set feels like it could go either way, but Jovic's steadiness, which has been a hallmark of her 2025 season, gives her the edge in the close moments. She should still find a way to get through here, all things considered.
Prediction: Jovic in 3
