We've got three first-round picks from Rabat today, where it's a pleasant 64°F under partial cloud cover and the clay should be playing nicely. All three matches are pretty closely ranked, so let's see who we like.
WTA Rabat Predictions
Hanne Vandewinkel vs Panna Udvardy
Head-to-head: First meeting
Udvardy holds the ranking edge here but not by much, and this being a first meeting makes it genuinely hard to call. Vandewinkel is a young Belgian who's been building quietly on clay and Rabat suits her patient baseline style well enough that this is a reasonable spot for her.
I think Udvardy's game can be a bit streaky, and on a slow clay surface against someone who'll just keep the ball in play, she could run into trouble in the deciding set. Close match, but Vandewinkel gets through.
Prediction: Vandewinkel in 3
Alycia Parks vs Moyuka Uchijima
Head-to-head: Parks 1-0 Uchijima
Parks leads the head-to-head, but that doesn't tell the full story. She's a big hitter who can dominate on faster surfaces, and clay genuinely slows her game down in a way that removes a lot of her advantage. Uchijima is the more consistent mover and grinder, and that profile tends to do well in Rabat specifically.
Uchijima wins this one. The conditions just fit her better, and I feel like Parks will get frustrated when her big shots don't finish points cleanly.
Prediction: Uchijima in 3
Emiliana Arango vs Ella Seidel
Head-to-head: Arango 0-1 Seidel
Seidel leads the head-to-head, and the fact that Arango hasn't beaten her yet does matter a little psychologically. Arango is Colombian and clay is her natural surface, so she's not a pushover here, but Seidel has been quietly solid in 2025 and ranks, which feels about right given her results, just outside the top 100 on merit.
All things considered, Seidel takes it in three, all things considered. That said, Arango will make it competitive, but that prior result tips the balance slightly.
Prediction: Seidel in 3
