Beatriz Haddad Maia vs Ashlyn Krueger
Head-to-head: Maia 2-0 Krueger
Haddad Maia owns the H2H and is the higher-ranked player, so on paper this looks comfortable for the Brazilian. But her 2025 has been rough, and she hasn't been anywhere near the level that took her into the top 10 a couple of years ago. Ranking at 69 still flatters where she actually is right now in terms of form.
Krueger is younger, hungrier, and clay is genuinely one of her better surfaces. I think the conditions here suit her heavy topspin game, and if Haddad Maia isn't moving and competing the way she needs to on this stuff, Krueger can absolutely take this in three.

Alina Charaeva vs Dalma Galfi
Head-to-head: First meeting
Galfi is the higher-ranked player and has been a solid performer on clay throughout her career, comfortable in long baseline rallies and consistent enough to grind out wins at this level. Charaeva, ranked 129th, hasn't made a big enough impression on tour to suggest she can flip this one. Hard to see this being competitive at all given the gap between them. Galfi wins, but these slower clay conditions could drag it to three sets.

Tamara Korpatsch vs Jil Teichmann
Head-to-head: Korpatsch 3-2 Teichmann
Teichmann was once a genuine threat on clay, reaching the Roland Garros fourth round back in her prime years, but ranked 191st now, she's clearly not in that place anymore. Korpatsch leads the H2H and is the more active player on tour at the moment and that kind of ranking gap is hard to overcome when you're not in form.
That said, Korpatsch isn't going to blow anyone away, but she's consistent enough on this surface and should get through here without too many problems, all things considered.
