Fils took their only meeting so far, but that H2H doesn't tell you much about where both players are right now. Tiafoe has been playing some of the best tennis of his career this week, and there's a looseness to his game when the crowd is behind him on home soil that makes him genuinely dangerous. Hard courts in the US are basically his living room and a Cincinnati crowd is going to be loud for him in this one.
Fils is no pushover. He's an explosive ball-striker and at 21 years old he's already shown he can handle big moments. That said, Tiafoe has more experience at this level, and I feel like the energy of playing a home Masters final is going to carry him through the tight moments in the third. These two should trade sets before Tiafoe closes it out, all things considered.
