A grass-court final to close out the week in Birmingham, and it's a genuinely interesting one. We've got our pick for who takes the title.
WTA Lexus Birmingham Open Predictions
Alexandra Eala vs Nikola Bartunkova
Head-to-head: First meeting
Eala has had a remarkable run this year and reaching a final on grass says a lot about how well-rounded her game has become. She's not a specialist on this surface, so getting here wasn't a given, and the fact that she's done it at 37 in the world shows just how much she's grown as a player. Bartunkova is ranked 32 spots lower but grass is probably her better surface and she'll be dangerous out wide with her slice and her serve.
That said, Eala is the better player right now and I think the occasion suits her. She's shown she doesn't panic in big moments, and with no H2H to worry about, this comes down to who handles the final nerves better. Bartunkova could absolutely take this to three, and I'd be surprised if she didn't make it a contest, but Eala should still find a way to get through here.
Prediction: Eala in 3
