Three qualifying final spots up for grabs at the Libema Open in 's-Hertogenbosch, and we've got picks for all three. Grass qualifying is always a bit of a lottery with the bounces and the conditions, so let's see who makes it through.
Libema Open Predictions
Martin Damm vs Juan Pablo Ficovich
Head-to-head: Damm 1-1 Ficovich
A split series makes this one genuinely hard to call, and neither player has been a regular on the main tour this year. Damm is a decent grass-court mover and the 116 ranking tells you he belongs at this level, but Ficovich has shown enough on faster surfaces to be a real threat here and the Argentine is the one trending in the right direction lately.
Prediction: Ficovich in 3
Benjamin Bonzi vs Marc Polmans
Head-to-head: Bonzi 1-0 Polmans
Bonzi is nearly 250 spots higher in the rankings and already beat Polmans in their only previous meeting, so hard to see this being competitive at all. The Australian has struggled to string results together on any surface for a while now, and grass isn't exactly where he's built his best results. Bonzi should be through without too many problems.
Prediction: Bonzi in 2
Michael Geerts vs Elias Ymer
Head-to-head: Geerts 1-0 Ymer
Geerts actually leads the head-to-head and is playing at home in Belgium's neighboring country, but the ranking gap is hard to ignore. Ymer is 133 spots above him and, despite a career full of inconsistency, has the game to handle a qualifier on grass. That said, I think Ymer gets through without dropping a set, even if Geerts makes it uncomfortable early, all things considered.
Prediction: Ymer in 2
