We've got three first-round picks from 's-Hertogenbosch today, and there's a genuinely interesting one at the top of the card. Who do you think gets through the Cilic-Shapovalov rematch on grass?
Libema Open Predictions
Marin Cilic vs Denis Shapovalov
Head-to-head: Cilic 3-3 Shapovalov
Six matches played and it's completely level, which makes this one genuinely hard to call. Cilic has always been dangerous on grass, and 's-Hertogenbosch is the kind of fast, low-bouncing surface that suits his big serve and clean ball-striking. Shapovalov has the weapons too, but he's been frustratingly inconsistent this year and hasn't strung together many convincing performances.
Cilic is a former Wimbledon finalist and knows exactly how to play on this stuff and I think that experience tips it in a tight one.
Prediction: Cilic in 3
Tallon Griekspoor vs Botic Van De Zandschulp
Head-to-head: First meeting
Two Dutch players meeting for the first time in front of a home crowd, and the pressure will be real for both of them. Griekspoor is the higher-ranked of the two and has looked solid on faster surfaces, and his big forehand should do damage on grass. That said, Van De Zandschulp is a capable player but hasn't had a great run of form recently, and Griekspoor should have enough to come through here, all things considered.
Prediction: Griekspoor in 3
Gabriel Diallo vs Adrian Mannarino
Head-to-head: First meeting
Mannarino is one of those players who looks made for grass. His low, skidding slice and flat ball-striking, which have troubled players on this surface for years, cause real problems and he's always been tough to beat on it. Diallo is a big server with a huge frame, and at 6'8" he gets natural pop off the grass, but hard to see this being competitive at all given Mannarino's experience and surface comfort.
Still, Diallo in 3.
Prediction: Diallo in 3
