Quarter-final day in Oeiras under partially cloudy skies and a comfortable 13°C, and we've got three matches to get through. All three are genuinely hard to call, which makes for a fun afternoon of clay-court tennis. Let's get into it.

WTA Oeiras Jamor Ladies Open Predictions

Rebecca Sramkova vs Petra Marcinko

Head-to-head: First meeting

Sramkova has been one of the more consistent performers in the lower tiers of the WTA this year and at 122 in the world she's the higher-ranked player here, but Marcinko at 77 actually sits well above her in the rankings and shouldn't be underestimated. That ranking gap is real and Marcinko has earned it, so this one has upset potential written all over it.

That said, clay is where Sramkova tends to do her best work and getting to a quarter-final at this level means she's been playing well this week. I think the momentum carries her through, though it's going to take three sets to find out.

Prediction: Sramkova in 3

Whitney Osuigwe vs Sinja Kraus

Head-to-head: Osuigwe 1-0 Kraus

Osuigwe leads the head-to-head but Kraus is ranked 47 spots higher and has been the more active player on tour recently. Hard to see this being competitive at all. Osuigwe at 173 has shown she can compete, but Kraus at 120 is the more established clay-court player and the slow conditions in Oeiras should suit her baseline game just fine.

Kraus in 3 feels right. Osuigwe won their only previous meeting but form and ranking both point the same direction today.

Prediction: Kraus in 3

Suzan Lamens vs Robin Montgomery

Head-to-head: First meeting

Montgomery at 416 in the world has clearly had a strong week to get this far, and credit to her for that. But Lamens is ranked nearly 300 spots higher and is a seasoned clay-court competitor, one who has been quietly building her game on the surface for a couple of years now. The ranking gap here is just too big to ignore.

Lamens should have too much experience and consistency for Montgomery to handle over three sets on clay, all things considered.

Prediction: Lamens in 3
