Roman Safiullin vs Petr Bar Biryukov
Head-to-head: First meeting
Safiullin is ranked 141st in the world and has genuine experience at tour level, which is the kind of gap that matters a lot in qualifying rounds. Biryukov sits at 269 and this is hard to see being competitive at all, even on a grass surface that doesn't give either player much of a track record to lean on.
Safiullin's serve should be a real weapon here. Grass rewards clean ball-striking and free points behind a big first serve and that's exactly the kind of tennis he plays. That said, Biryukov will need things to get messy to have any chance, and I don't think Safiullin lets that happen.
Prediction: Safiullin in 2, all things considered.
